For 400 years, the Authorised Version of the bible, commissioned by James 1st has played a major part in the development of our country. Regardless of religious convictions, its rich language and beautiful prose has stood the test of time.

First Novelists Panel and discussion

Angie Voluti and Chan Ling Yap join us in Thame Library for this splendid opportunity to hear two brand new novelists.

Have you ever wondered how people go about writing and getting their books published. Well here is your opportunity. Angie & Chan-Ling will read from their books and take questions about how they came to write them. This will be a fascinating and informative free event.

'DRAWING & CONCRETE POETRY OLYMPICS'

will take placefollows:

11am-12noon - Catching Movement- figure drawing

11am-3pm -Window Drawings- fun drawing the most beautiful setting for sport in Thame

1pm - 3pm -Pencil Bowling, Simple Print and Animated Drawing Fun

Two FREE exhibitions: CATCHING MOVEMENT (Prints by young people at Lord Williams's School - with special OXFAM books for sale) andDRAWING ON WORDS (SparksArtists' altered Latin dictionary pages) will be open for all from 10am - 6pm.

Refreshments at the bar and teas from 3.30 will be served before the announcement of the winner of the Art Café Poetry Postcard trail quiz at 4.30 pm. ‘POSTCARD POETRY’ Trail
Sparksartists and Art Café members are exhibiting postcards, produced from original work inspired by poetry, in shops in Thame as part of the TAL Festival.
We hope that people will enjoy participating in the Art Trail.
A print-out of the poems and a list of participating shops may be obtained from the Thame Town Hall.
See if you can match the postcards to the poems and win a small prize!  Deadline for completed entries 3.30pm on Sunday 16th October at Thame Cricket Club.
